Fast forward to today and Twitch has announced, in partnership with The Pokémon Company International, a massive Pokémon Marathon set to start later this month and will continue into 2019. With 19 TV series (932 episodes to be exact) and 16 movies to get through, it’s set to be the longest viewing event ever on Twitch. It’s going to kick off with Pokémon: The Indigo League on 27 August 2018 at 10:00am PDT, or 6:00pm BST for those of us in the UK. That’s not all though; after all, this is Twitch, a platform famed for community engagement, so it’s only right that there’s an element of interactivity during the marathon. That comes in the form of an exclusive Extension called Pokémon Badge Collector, an overlay that’ll display virtual badges during livestreams for viewers to collect and convert to points. These points will be displayed in a public leaderboard, allowing you to compete with your friends and fans around the world whilst binging Pokémon. Sounds great, right?
